Friends Of Bingley Pool (FOBP) are a small group of people who are passionate about the Bingley community. We put a lot of work into a plan to save Bingley Pool from closure in 2020, and prior to the Covid 19 Pandemic, had produced a commercially viable business plan for Bradford Metropolitan District Council (BMDC) and had agreed on a date for the community asset transfer (CAT) of Bingley Pool to our group.
Due to a lack of upkeep the pool was closed by BMDC in February 2021 and the CAT process frozen. Our focus now is to work with BDMC and the community to bring back swimming to Bingley. We continue to fundraise, and encourage community involvement.
Our long-term vision is that the pool will become a vibrant, multi-generational leisure facility and community hub, delivering valued services which meet the needs of the different local communities and groups.
- Do you want to keep Bingley Pool as a community facility for swimming and gym in Bingley?
- Do you enjoy using Bingley Pool and gym facilities?
- Do you have ideas and opinions on how Bingley Pool facilities can be improved?
